A Ride In The Country Today!

There is nothing like a beautiful fall day when you can wear jeans and still be able to wear your flip-flops!! Today we road the back country roads not far from home and sampled apples, saw beautiful trees ablaze in color, explored old cemeteries, ran into a crew of turkey vultures, ate dounuts and drank cider, and picked out a pumpkin. All things you love to do on a sunny warm fall day!! (click on photos to enlarge)

one tree already naked, and two dressed

Every season has its special beauty and autumn is no exception. Watching the trees turn from a uniform green to all varieties of gold, yellow and red is a spectacular experience. One can almost be blinded by the fiery brilliance. How can it be that all this beauty is sign of death and decay? With all this beauty there is a certain sadness in knowing that the changing colors foreshadow the arrival of a long cold winter.

A turkey vulture flying around us ... hmmm maybe he thinks we are food!

A ride down the country road ...

A little apple picking too!

A visit with some ducks!

AND the cutest ugly duckling below

A patch of pumpkins awaits new homes

A visit to an old cemetery, oddly also the lady died on halloween, 'tis the season!

OK time for a snack, home made dounuts and cider!

Can you say YUM!!

AND before you know it all the little gouls and gobblins will be knocking at our doors!

HAPPY FALL!!!

Great Pic's M. Where did you go? Were you near Saint Jo's. Heard they (gas companys) were fixing up the roads out that way. Do you know? VV, come on home..:) Rarely do I dream but last Friday, was actually dreaming of Cider Mill doughnuts. The cin. ones. Think I want to smell them even more than eat them. Have not had any since day at Cemetary, with VV, and someone who was visiting shared them will VV, M, and myself.. over a year ago now.
